Who Are We?
game on was founded by Steve Shenbaum in Los Angeles in1997 to help junior and professional athletes, teams, and corporations improve communication and build and maintain positive public images. Since then, game on has become the undisputed leader in improving client’s communication, social confidence and, when necessary, media awareness. We have worked with the first overall picks in the NFL, NBA and NHL drafts including Sidney Crosby, Eli Manning, Greg Oden, Alex Smith, Erik Johnson and John Tavares. We have also worked with over thirty 1st round draft picks, numerous college and pro teams and corporations, and thousands of junior athletes at IMG Academies and around the world. Our goal is to help our clients find their true voice and achieve the right balance of honesty, humility and humor. To quote our first client Pete Sampras, "game on has finally helped me feel more comfortable being myself, and more importantly, I’m having more fun both on and off the court and that, to me, is what it’s all about.”
How Do We Do It?
game on insists that we can’t just tell our clients to stand tall, speak up, or smile more, we must SHOW THEM HOW. Our innovative curriculum uses improvisation and role-playing games to let our clients practice vital communication and social skills. With experts in the field of sports broadcasting/journalism, acting, psychology, education, and public speaking, game on's communication coaches are uniquely qualified to create a safe, entertaining learning environment where our clients build communication muscles. Through practice, interactive exercises, and peer-driven feedback, game on gets tangible results while keeping participants entertained.
Why Do You Need It?
game on believes that successfully communicating with peers, teammates, coaches, executives, the public, and/or the media is no different than returning a 100 mile per hour serve or hitting a 250 yard drive; it’s challenging and therefore requires practice, discipline, and a professional coach. In today’s media driven, tech savvy society, every word is amplified and every picture is magnified. Having the confidence to adapt quickly to any situation, use honesty, humility and humor in the conversation, and interact as a positive force in the community is what sets game on clients apart - in sports, business, and life.
